# How does A/B testing work?

> Run split tests on your notifications to find the best performing offer.

A/B testing lets you compare two versions of a notification to see which one performs better. TinyBell splits your traffic automatically between variants.

## How to set up an A/B test

1. Create a notification with your first variant (A)
2. In the notification settings, enable **A/B testing**
3. Create variant B with different copy, design, or offer
4. Set the traffic split (default is 50/50)
5. Save and enable

TinyBell will randomly show variant A or B to different visitors and track results separately.

## What to test

* **Headline**: "Book Direct & Save 10%" vs "Best Price Guaranteed"
* **Offer amount**: 10% off vs free breakfast
* **Notification type**: popup vs bar
* **Trigger**: exit intent vs scroll 50%
* **Image**: room photo vs pool photo

## When to pick a winner

Wait until each variant has at least 500 impressions. The variant with the higher click-through rate wins. You can then disable the losing variant and keep the winner running.
